Lincoln LNT 347Si steel welding rods, type ER347Si / W 19 9 Nb Si, contain niobium, which reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion by limiting the formation of chromium carbides. This alloy is resistant to corrosion in contact with liquids up to a temperature of 400 °C. The increased amount of silicon improves the fluidity of the weld pool and its ability to spread, which ensures an even, well-formed weld. The main applications of LNT 347Si rods include the process industry and the welding of stainless steel used where high temperatures are encountered. The welding process takes place in an atmosphere of neutral argon gas (Ar 100%).
