Lincoln LNT 309LSi welding rods, type ER309LSi / W 23 12 LSi, have an additional amount of silicon, which improves the fluidity and wettability of the weld pool. This translates into smooth, regular joints. The alloy contains approximately 12% delta ferrite, which increases resistance to hot cracking. They can be used for welding clad steels operating at temperatures up to 300 °C. Main applications include general manufacturing and hardfacing. The welding process takes place in an inert gas atmosphere, e.g. argon (Ar), 100%.
