The Powertec i500S semi-automatic welding machine manufactured by Lincoln Electric is a reliable device characterized by high efficiency and durability, making it ideal for the most demanding applications in industry, even in the harshest working conditions. The machine with dimensions of 932 mm x 560 mm x 925 mm and a weight of 79 kg allows welding using the following methods: MIG/MAG (GMAW), MMA (covered electrode welding - SMAW), as well as flux-cored wire welding (FCAW), ensuring stable parameters for each of these processes. In combination with the LF56 Powertec i500S cooler, it also allows for the gouging process. The welder allows for operation with a current in the range of 20-500A, in the cycles presented in the list below:

APPLICATION IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES

The Powertec i500S is a solution that works great in various industries, including heavy industry, shipbuilding, and construction. Thanks to its excellent arc dynamics, which allows for optimal control and regulation of the most important welding parameters, and a wide range of synergistic lines, the device is also perfect for applications in the transport industry. The semi-automatic from Lincoln Electric ensures fast, repeatable and trouble-free arc ignition and its excellent stability, which translates into a small amount of spatter and smooth material transfer. The Powertec i500S also guarantees precise wire feeding, and in the case of the Advance panel, it allows for the brazing process. The welder can also be used in light production, as well as for all repairs and assembly of machines. The device has been equipped with long intermediate cables and is adapted to work with generators, so it can be used during field work.

SAFETY, EFFICIENCY, DURABILITY

The Powertec i500S semi-automatic welder from Lincoln Electric is designed to work in the harshest conditions. Its optimized ergonomics and professionally designed construction guarantee high efficiency and reliability and ensure the continuity of the device's operation, even in the most demanding production and environmental conditions. The welder has an IP23 protection class, which proves its resistance to solid foreign bodies with a diameter of 12.5 mm or more, and also ensures the stability of the equipment in positions at an angle of up to 60° from the vertical on each side.

Thanks to the use of a tunnel cooling system, the device is protected against dust and dirt entering the electronics, and the numerous tests to which the machine has been subjected prove its above-average durability, including the TRUE HD test, CRASH TEST, ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY TEST (EMC), or a thermal test, proving the uninterrupted operation of the welder for 2 hours at a temperature of +40C and 55% humidity, and a dust test, confirming the continuous operation of the machine for 4 hours in a dust chamber.

DEVICE CONSTRUCTION BASED ON INVERTER TECHNOLOGY

The Powertec i500S welder is based on modern inverter technology, which is incredibly environmentally friendly and, depending on the welding parameters and work cycle, allows for energy savings of up to 3700 kWh (in the case of two-shift operation with a current of 350A in a 30% cycle), which translates into a gain of approximately PLN 2,200 per year on the operation of one device. Inverter technology also complies with the new European directive, which, once implemented, will eliminate most conventional transformer devices from sale. It also allows for faster control of the welding arc than with analogue power sources. This technology combines features such as modularity and ease of use, while ensuring optimum welding performance. The compact design of the machine also allows for easy transport.

The Heavy Duty chassis used in the Powertec i500S ensures uninterrupted operation of the machine, even on surface inclinations of up to 15°. The welder is equipped with a handy shelf for a gas cylinder, the assembly of which is extremely quick and easy, as well as a practical handle, ensuring safe movement of the device and its easy grip, even when wearing welding gloves. Large wheels make it easier to overcome obstacles such as cables or thresholds.

Inside the welder there is an illuminated and lockable compartment for storing accessories such as a handle, current tips, rollers or gloves. The device is equipped with protective legs, rubber protectors and two additional chains ensuring efficient protection of the equipment. The extremely stable and metal construction of the machine makes the device even more resistant to mechanical damage, and the use of armored plugs and cables with strain reliefs at both ends guarantees a stable connection at a length of up to 30 m, regardless of the type of cooling (liquid or air).

WIRE FEEDERS

The Powertec i500S can be paired with one of two wire feeders offered by Lincoln Electric: the standard LF52D, designed for basic welding applications, or the advanced LF56D, which is engineered for the most demanding users.

Both wire feeders are built using cutting-edge technology and feature a precise feeding mechanism consisting of four large diameter drive rolls (37 mm), ensuring reliable wire feeding regardless of the wire type. The factory-installed rolls are designed for 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm wires, suitable for low-alloy and stainless steel.

This flexibility allows users to choose the appropriate feeder based on their specific needs, from standard applications to advanced, high-performance tasks. The housing of the guides is made of aluminum, which significantly affects their durability. The use of a new locking mechanism allows for easy replacement of rollers and guides, which does not require the use of tools. The use of a rotating bracket also allows the wire feeders to be rotated and set in any position.

Below is a comparison of the features and functions of both feeders:

Feeder LF 56D ADVANCED

The advanced wire feeder - LF56D has a simple and intuitive control panel with a 7'' color TFT display, ensuring trouble-free operation, even when wearing welding gloves. Parameters are adjusted using two control knobs and one button, which makes it easy to navigate the menu. The 7-inch display allows for graphical presentation of the most important information and key commands, which is possible thanks to the ARCFX™ function, which allows for visualization of the joint and parameters.

The wide range of synergic lines makes the advanced LF-56D wire feeder effectively support MIG processes. Available programs include, among others: a program for steel, stainless steel, aluminum and cored wires. The functions that the Advanced LF-56D wire feeder offers include, for example: memory, password-protected Job modes, parameter limits or lock functions. The LF56D wire feeder also allows you to select programs from the welding torch, thus significantly increasing the comfort of work. The additionally built-in USB port allows for quick uploading of updates. The interface is available in many languages, including English, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Russian, etc. The Advanced version interface is presented below:

1. 7-inch TFT display: View welding parmeters

2. Left knob: Set the value in the upper left corner of the display/ Cancel selection/ Return to the previous menu,

3. Right knob: Set the value in the upper right of the display/ Cancel selection/ Confirm changes

5. Center button: Return to main menu
