The ASPECT® 300 TIG AC/DC welder, created by Lincoln Electric, is a single-phase AC/DC power source that is used for TIG AC/DC and MMA welding. The 43 kg device allows for maximum current of 200A in 100% cycle and 300A in 35% cycle. The ASPECT® 300 TIG is made in IP23 protection class and has a sealed housing and reliable True Heavy Duty construction, which guarantees solid protection of the machine's electronic systems. These features also ensure extraordinary durability of the device and significantly extend its service life.
Thanks to its single-phase “buck-boost” inverter, the ASPECT® 300 welder features low energy consumption and generates lower operating costs compared to devices from other brands. The machine is also compatible with generator sets, making it ideal for various field applications. The inverter is equipped with an intuitive and easy-to-use panel and features a bright digital display. Combined with the ability to save 9 welding programs, this makes the machine exceptionally user-friendly and ensures easy operation for every user. The innovative feature that allows for parameter adjustments from the welding torch significantly simplifies achieving a quick and stable welding arc, resulting in noticeably improved comfort throughout the entire welding process.
The ASPECT® 300 inverter has modes - Green Mode, which puts the device in standby mode after 10 minutes without welding and Idle Mode (<15W), which puts the device in sleep mode after 30 minutes without welding. These modes reduce energy consumption and also reduce the amount of dirt that can be sucked into the machine. The device also allows for operation in Boost mode, thanks to which it is possible to power the machine from an extension cord up to 100m long and with a cable diameter of 4mm2. This mode provides more output current with the same input current.
Advanced welding technologies Lincoln Aspect 300
The ASPECT® 300 welder allows you to change polarity, which allows you to weld with direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). The device is also equipped with other TIG functions that make it perfect for welding the most demanding applications, which undoubtedly include aluminum. Below is a list of TIG functions offered by the ASPECT® 300 welder:
● TIG Lift: A method for striking the welding arc by touching the electrode to the workpiece. The aim is to initiate a low-intensity short-circuit current. After touching, lifting the electrode from the workpiece starts the TIG arc.
● TIG HF (High-Frequency): A method for striking the welding arc without touching the electrode to the workpiece. The HF function remains active for 3 seconds; if the arc is not initiated within this time, the sequence must be restarted.
● Spot TIG - Spot Welding: A function dedicated to welding and joining thin materials.
● 2-stroke (2S) and 4-stroke (4S): Modes that allow a smooth transition from the main welding current to a secondary current previously set by the user. Optionally, there are also modes with restart: 2S and 4S.
● Bi-level (only for 4-stroke 4S): This function causes a rapid decrease in current value (faster than in 4S-restart function) to the second current set in the menu, to avoid overheating the material. Returning to the main current is possible with a quick click.
● TIG PULS (Pulsed Arc Welding): Allows operation in the range of 1-2000 Hz for DC mode and 1-100 Hz for AC mode. This function prevents insufficient penetration at low currents and protects the base material from overheating.
● Balance or Auto-Balance: Parameters that assist in cleaning aluminum surfaces from oxides. The Auto-Balance function is especially helpful for less experienced users as it automatically adjusts cleaning proportions to the penetration.
● Frequency Adjustment: Adjustable in AC mode within the range of 40-400 Hz. Higher frequency provides better penetration but generates more noise.
● Offset (Negative/Positive): Adjusting this parameter allows precise control over the amount of current used during DC+ cleaning and DC- welding, enabling fine-tuning.
● Tungsten Electrode Diameter and Type Adjustment: Helps achieve the best arc striking parameters.
● Waveform Selection (for AC current): The ability to adjust the waveform shape helps optimize the welding arc pressure.
In addition to TIG AC/DC welding, the ASPECT® 300 inverter also allows for MMA welding. When welding manually with coated electrodes (MMA), the user has special operating modes at their disposal, which are dedicated to individual types of electrodes: Crisp mode is designed for welding with cellulose electrodes, a s it allows for better penetration, while Soft mode is used for welding with rutile and basic electrodes. In MMA mode, the ASPECT® 300 device offers the following functions:
● Hot Start: This function helps to improve the ignition properties and in the initial phase contributes to better fusion of the base material.
● Anti-Stick: In the event of an electrode short circuit, this function makes it easier to detach it from the welded material because it causes a reduction in the current value.
● Arc Force: automatic function that facilitates the welding process. It causes a momentary increase in the welding current to prevent the electrode from sticking.
The ASPECT® 300 AC/DC TIG welder is covered by a 3-year warranty and was manufactured in Poland. The device can be expanded with the CoolArc 46 K14105-1 cooler and the Cart TPX K14129-1 cart.
