The Optrel Helix CLT helmet is used in electrode welding (Stick Welding, SMAW), MIG/MAG (metal welding under protective gases, GMAW), high-performance GMAW welding, flux-cored wire welding, WIG welding (TIG, GTAW), plasma welding, plasma cutting as well as in grinding mode. The visor was created to work in the most difficult conditions.

The welding mask has TrueColor view technology, ensuring realistic color perception and allows adjustment to the scope of duties performed. This provides a very clear and colorful image of the weld in bright mode, thanks to an automatic filter with a light transmittance of 31% (darkening level 2.0), but also offers a maximum wide field of view. The field of view of the visor is 50 x 100 mm, but thanks to the innovative cutout for the nose, the shape of the lens and the positioning of the headband, the actual field of view can increase up to six times. The 5-point sensing system enables intelligent control of 5 sensors. State-of-the-art software and skillful positioning of 4 sensors in the corners and 1 sensor at the top guarantee perfect activation and deactivation of glare protection even in difficult lighting conditions and forced positions, as well as constant adjustment of shading levels during welding. The self-darkening Optrel Helix CLT welding helmet has an optical class of 1/1/1/2. The Position Locker function allows you to easily raise the welding mask to the open position and lower it to the closed position. ShadeTronic® - thanks to an advanced light sensor that monitors the intensity of the welding arc, it automatically adjusts the degree of shading from protection level 4 to the maximum level 12 continuously (4-12 DIN) with an individual calibration option of ± 2. The helmet provides protection against ultraviolet and infrared radiation. The mask operates in the range of up to 280A. FadeTronic technology, which enables smooth adjustment of the display opening, eliminates flares, thus protecting the user against blinding after welding and reducing eye fatigue, the switching time from dark to light with this function is 0.1s to 2.0s. The switching time from light to dark is 0.09ms at 20°C and 0.07ms at 55°C.

The visor is equipped with an extremely comfortable IsoFit® headgear with a perfect fit. The IsoFit® band sets a new standard in wearing comfort. It is the only product in the world that can be adjusted to the width, length and height of the head - i.e. in three dimensions (3D) - thanks to which the visor perfectly fits the user's head. Grinding mode is conveniently operated from the outside using a very durable pressure switch, when pressed, the anti-reflective display is turned off, giving a smooth transition to sanding work. When pressed again, glare protection is immediately activated, allowing you to continue welding. The storage temperature is from -20°C to +70°C, while the visor can be used at temperatures from -10°C to +55°C. The weight of the visor is only 575g. The rounded shape of the helmet and the material from which it is made guarantee optimal temperature inside, which translates into comfort of work and the appropriate temperature of the welder's head during work. The mask remains stable at temperatures up to 220°C, while the outer protective lens at temperatures up to 137°C..

The visor is powered by solar cells and an additional lithium-polymer battery that can be charged via USB. Battery life is 300 to 500 charging cycles. Thanks to the use of the re-charge function and photovoltaic cells, the helmet is charged with the energy of the welding arc radiation or ambient light, so there is no need to charge the battery in normal working conditions. The manufacturer offers a standard two-year warranty for the visor, but there is an option to extend it for an additional year after registering on the manufacturer's website within the first 6 months from the date of purchase. The face shield meets the requirements of CE, ANSI, EAC, AS/NZS and CSA Z94.3 standards. In addition, it is PAPR certified according to EN 12941 (TH3) and EN14594 (3B) for the air-supplied version. It is also compliant with ISO 16321 standards for the "low amp Tig" method..
