The TransSteel 2200c welding source is a single-phase "3-in-1" device that allows for MIG/MAG (210A at 30% duty cycle), MMA (180A at 35% duty cycle), and TIG Lift (230A at 35% duty cycle) welding methods. The inverter is known for its robust construction and high reliability. The welder features an intuitive control panel, typical of Fronius welding machines. Its lightweight design (15.5 kg) makes it one of the lightest devices of its kind on the market, facilitating easy transport. This makes the welder suitable for both workshop and construction site applications.

The TransSteel 2200 is equipped with a built-in wire feeder compatible with D100 and D200 spools. The machine ensures stable wire feeding thanks to its 2-roll feeder. Inside the welding source, the manufacturer has also included a compartment for storing consumables. At the rear of the device, there are two electromagnetic gas valves, allowing for easy and quick process changes.

Users can choose between two setting modes: manual or synergic. In manual mode, users can adjust various parameters such as: type and thickness of the welding material, electrode/wire diameter, shielding gas type, amperage, wire feed speed, arc length and dynamics, and voltage. In synergic mode, the machine automatically selects parameters, simplifying usage. Additionally, users can save two "EasyJob" work programs, which can be recalled directly using the control panel buttons.

When working with the TransSteel 2200c, users can set the "arc length correction" and "dynamics." The "arc length correction" parameter allows for adjusting the arc length and increasing or decreasing the voltage. The dynamics adjustment helps achieve either a hard and stable welding arc or a softer arc with greater spatter.

The TransSteel 2200c enables MIG/MAG welding with functions including: 2-tact, 4-tact special, spot welding, multi-pass 2-tact, and multi-pass 4-tact. The 2-tact mode is suitable for tack welding and short welds. The special 4-tact mode is ideal for higher power welding, using lower power for arc ignition to achieve greater arc stabilization. Spot welding is used for weld connections accessible from one side on overlapping sheets. Multi-pass welding is particularly effective for thin sheets, as it prevents the weld pool from cooling between pause periods due to intermittent wire feed.

For TIG Lift welding, users have access to: 2-tact, 4-tact special, and pulsed arc welding. In 4-tact mode, there is an additional option to set the I2 current reduction, which decreases the current during the main current phase. Interpass reduction is especially useful when the base material starts to melt during welding or other complications arise. Users can also use pulsed arc welding, which can be set from 1-990 Hz. This function protects the base material from overheating and prevents insufficient penetration with too low current.

The TransSteel 2200c also allows for MMA welding. For this method, functions include: dynamics, hot start, anti-stick, and soft start. Depending on the dynamics setting, users can achieve either a soft and spatter-free welding arc or a hard and stable arc. The hot start function improves arc ignition, enhances base material fusion in the initial phase, reduces cold spots, and prevents slag inclusions. The soft start function facilitates starting the welding process with electrodes requiring lower current. The Anti-stick function reduces the welding current in case of electrode stick, making it easier to detach the electrode and preventing damage to the holder.
